  • If there is a defect or something wrong with your order we’ll be happy to make it right.

    If the sizing is not right, we’re happy to exchange for a different size but shipping will be your responsibility.

    We’re a small shop, so we appreciate your understanding!

    We have a 10-day return policy, which means you have 10 days after receiving your item to request a return.

    To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

    ORDER LOST DURING SHIPPING
    You must notify us within 30 days of the shipment date of your item that your package is lost in transit so we can send a new order.

    DAMAGE AND ISSUES
    Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and send a replacement item. 

    Please use the sizing guide to ensure proper fitting of your items.

    Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

  • We want you to love your Hopeful gear! Please take a moment to double-check our sizing charts before ordering — many of our items are made-to-order, so the right fit helps us reduce waste and keep things running smoothly.

    If you need to exchange an item for a different size, we’re happy to help. Just contact us within 10 days of receiving your order. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer, and the replacement will ship out once we receive your original item in unworn, unwashed condition.

  • Many of our products are made especially for you as soon as you place an order, which is why it might take us a bit longer to deliver it to you. We stock a number of products on-hand, but might need to order more should there be demand, so processing times could be up to 10 business days. We will keep you informed should there be a longer fulfillment time.

    Making products on demand instead of in bulk helps reduce overproduction, so thank you in advance for your patience.

  • Sizing charts are listed on the bottom of each product page. Please take careful note of sizes because while we are happy to exchange your product for a different size, you’ll be responsible for shipping costs both ways.

    Best way to check sizing is pull out your fave t-shirt, measure and check against our guides.

  • Hopeful is a positive state of being. It’s not affiliated with any group, party, or cause.

    Hopeful Maine was created to provide products based on Portland, Maine artist Charlie Hewitt’s iconic Hopeful sign. Our goal is to share his colorful, fun design with its positive message to inspire, encourage and connect people.

    “OK, but, how so and why?” you might ask.

    Example: My husband is an avid Boston Celtics fan. It doesn’t matter where in the world he is, he will cross the street, stop the car, yell from the highest rooftop, if he sees someone wearing a Celtic’s jersey - all to connect and have a conversation about something he loves and is passionate about. He knows these are his peeps, his team. It brings him great joy and a fun connection to what is REALLY important in this world. ;-) connecting over all things Celtics.

    I feel the same about Hopeful.

    With Hopeful merch, I’m hoping to do the same: share my Hopeful spirit, encourage others and find my team. Maybe have a conversation, share a laugh, a smile, get the chance to connect in a meaningful way. Who knows?
