Artist Statement
“Hopeful is not a passive word - it’s a challenge and a responsibility. It’s a silent prayer, a leap of faith you take that it’s going to be better. To be hopeful requires action, it requires commitment, it requires opening your eyes, it requires being part of something. It requires being passionately in love with your country, passionately in love with your family, and passionately in love with everyone in your community. That passion and that love, I want back. I want a resurgence in my soul for that kind of life.”

I was wearing my Hopeful Hat and shirt, walking into the Bath Post Office to mail out some goodies when another gal was entering at the same time. She said she had just won a hat and shirt in a raffle which I donated to the 100+WomenWhoCare Midcoast Maine event and asked if I knew where they came from. “From me”, I said. We had a nice chat about what being Hopeful means and the great work that the 100+ WomenWhoCare Midcoast Maine group does.
